Synopsis of show
Conjuring Up Comedy is a one man comedy and magic show with VAT (very amusing tricks).

In the first half Ian explains how he made the transition from accountant to magical comedian with a mixture of anecdotes, jokes, magic and mind reading that highlight various stages in his life.

In the second half Ian performs his award winning act. He finishes by revealing that whereas he is no longer an accountant by profession, he cannot escape the fact that he still looks and dresses like one!

Running time of the show
The show runs for two hours including an interval. Two hours are required for ‘get in’ and one hour for ‘get out’.

Who are the target audience for the show?
The target audience is adults and families with older children (12+). There is absolutely nothing offensive in the show; but some of the anecdotes and jokes, particularly in the first half, will be ‘lost’ on younger children.

What are the main selling points for the show?
Magic has universal appeal and yet very rarely do audiences have a chance to experience the excitement and exhilaration of seeing it live. On top of the magic there are non-stop laughs throughout, making it an unbeatable combination for everybody to enjoy. Magic is an ancient art but here it is brought right up to date in a modern day, humorous and sophisticated format.
What venue and shape of stage works best?
The show can work in any venue, providing there are good sight lines. It works well in all spaces, apart from in the round.

What are the technical requirements?
Essentially there are none as all lighting, sound and staging are provided. No additional technical support is required.

Why should you book the show?
The show is completely hassle free for any booker. All equipment is provided and it can be performed in any type and size of space (except in the round). A4 / A3 posters and A5 flyers are provided.

There is a track record to prove that the combination of ex-accountant and magician is intriguing to the press, thereby generating newspaper coverage. Magic tricks can be performed both on television and the radio – which make appearances in these mediums more likely.
Most importantly audience feedback from those who have seen the show has been excellent.

Availability of show
The show is available to book as from now.

How much does it cost?
Nothing is fixed, everything is negotiable! Local hospitality is fine as far as accommodation is concerned.

Workshops
A workshop can be done during the day – in which some basic magic tricks and principles of magic can be taught.
